The world surrounding Stephen is one of abstractions, surrealism, and an overwhelming sense of loss. Stephen grieves for the loss of his Love, and he is alone in his grief. He is consumed by his memories, the warmth of the past, and the despair of this desolate place. He is haunted by his guilt, hunted for his mistake, and damaged by his own fault. Still Stephen carries on.
